Another really power-metalish track is the Red Canyon Theme from F Zero X.

anything off of F-Zero X would rule. i didn't like the game much, but that sound track is 100% metal, some power metal others death metal others traditional. sick shit none the less. aka game over should cover Smiley

one good one is called like "Devil's Call in your Heart" and "Fall Down to the Scream"

I know, I voted for that game before, but still:

Kage aka Shadow of the Ninja aka Blue Shadow.

The music in this game is destined to be metalized. Especially the first, second and last stage.

Here is a link to the original NES soundtrack in NSF format.
http://www.zophar.net/nsf/kage.zip

Btw: BrainCells already did a nice metal cover on the 5th and 2nd stage of the game. Check OverClocked for the track.
Or for those who are too lazy to search:
http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01445/

How awesome would the Soundtrack of that game sound in GameOver-style?
One can only wonder.

Zelda: A Link to the Past - Dark world theme!!!

I sooo voted for this one.

The Dark World Theme, simply one of the greatest Zelda songs ever. I wish I could listen to a heavy-metal-GameOverish version of it someday. Wire, please make my wish come true, I know you can do it.

I also voted for Bionic Commando - Level 1, that tune brings back good memories to my head.

Some suggestions:

Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts - the first level
Street Fighter II - Ryu Stage

'Twould rule.    Someone said doing the bowser boss theme.  That would kickass as well.

Journey To Silius

Maniac Mansion - I tried to cover the "Edison´s Theme" sometime ago and it was sounding fine...

Batman "Return of the Joker"

Wolverine - Title song rawks!

Let me think a few more...

Terranigma has an amazing soundtrack as well. Anything from that would rock.
Especially the "Dragon Castle" has some awesome rhythm, would be
U L T R A H E A V Y.
Grecliff is cool as well.
One could use that part starting like after 52 seconds as bridge, you know, that awesome stuff the bass plays there.
The "Creation" track could be used as perfect intro/outro or whatever.
And if that's not enough, Grecliff has a fine, constant rhythmic/melodic figure...
And there are sweeeet melodies on the underworld theme as well.
Really amazings soundtrack if you ask me.

I have two suggestions that I think would make great Metal Songs, with the appropriate tweaking.

 Astyanax's 'Remlia':
 http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/Astyanax-Remlia.mid

Battletoads' Surf City:
http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/nes/btdslv5surf.mid

Of course, Remlia will require a little bit of slowing down. Just became a fan two days ago Smiley. I'm telling all my friends.

Not bad. I wasn't expecting something this good. I like Death Metal, this guy did a good job with those vocals.
But the problem is it doesn't sound like Zelda at all. And it's too technoish I guess. I like melodic guitars, but I'm not sure if this one's a real guitar, I think it's a sample (I'm not a musician). And about those synth sounds, they just ruin the song.
Overall, didn't make me shiver. It's a good song if you like techno-death. And it shouldn't have Zelda in the title.

Back on topic, someone suggested the Double Dragon II main theme. It's a great classic, I really hope you consider making this one.

Naaah, it sounds rather good for sampled guitar... but quite monotonous. Not sure on this one as well. But I incline to saying its real.
But it REALLY does not sound like zelda. And that synths add to that. It's ok, but not how I want Zelda to sound Sad

So, you still have the option to do it yourselves, Game Over  Cheesy

it isn't a sample i'm sure of that. the only thing kadmium does poorly is that his style is a bit monotonous, but he improves each time. i honestly like when a person can take a theme and turn it into somethign completely different. it shows that you have talent and song writing ability over copying someone else's work note for note. also there were synths in the original. they were in the background though. and game over also changes it up, but mostly arrangement and instrumentation wise not necessarily with notes, key sig, and time sig.

other tracks from that DoD (Dwelling of Duels - monthly VGM 'contest') posted here: http://dod.vgmix.com/past/may06/

Yea, it's alot, but I thought that they would fit with the heavy metal style of Game Over. Some of the tracks I listed can be use for a soft opening, then begin with a heavy rythem. Some of the themes can be blended together, like the Gradius stages, the Blaster Master stages, both CT's Middle Ages and Frog's theme together, etc.

And to add as a bonus, there is another one that would be awsome to hear from you guys, and it's from the Playstation (also part of Mega Man X Collections for the PS2 and Gamecube:

Mega Man X6 - Sigma Final Battle

That theme is actually a remix of the final boss themes of MMX1 and X2, so you guys can just rearranged them and make them better.

Hope to see these in the future. Hope that the ones on the poll will be in the next set of arrangement.
