nono, AmIEvil's mix is still the best

Are you referring to "Death on the Snow Field"? That one rocks, but I'm with Wire, Ailsean's "Terra in Black" is the best.

Brinstar - quite possible.

Are we talking about Brinstar from Super Metroid here? hmmm.. I know a very cool mix made by Protricity, one of the tracks from the Relics of the Chozo CD, a Super Metroid soundtrack project. The remix is called "Full of Life", it's very well made. I think the composition comunicates soothingness and a sort of mysticism. I just love those synth sounds.
You can download this remix from here (track #6).
Now, a heavy metal version? I just can't imagine an electric guitar or some drums, or even vocals, fitting in that melody. I think it'd be really hard to make it sound like the game.
Well it's just my opinion. Wire, I'm sure you could come up with something really nice, you're (very) creative.

And what about The Goonies 2? Not Cyndi Lauper theme, but fast-tune-that-sounds-almost-like-Cyndi-Lauper-theme or Waterfall stage? I've always loved those.

*thumbs up*

If we ever do a Bionic Commando cover, it has to be about the secret love affair between captain Rad Spencer and Super Joe. I don't know why, but the ending reminds me a little of the Brokeback Mountain kind of gayness. It's just a feeling I get.

I really loved that game, and the music from the first stage (Area 1?) of course. What wouldn't I do to hear a Bionic Commando cover  . Among all the considered options, this one's the one I'm mostly looking forward to.
And about the gay lyrics, the... secret love affair :x .. you're kidding right?

No wonder it sounded familiar Shocked , I saw that movie twice.

And what about the last part in For Those About to Climb? "Oh man, game over man, game oover", that also sounds familiar, but I'm not sure.

Although I'm not an experienced musician or anything (I used to play some piano), I'd like to comment on some of the NESperado tracks.

Siege at Monsteropolis is FAST, great work with the drums, the lyrics are great and they fit very well. But what I like the most is the leading guitar... at 2:00 WOW! AMAZING!!!
I've listened to a few Remixes of that song in OCReMix, but none of them sound near as good as Siege at Monsteropolis.
Oh and by the way, Mega Man 2 is my all time favorite Mega Man game  Cheesy

Hyrule's Angel, The Sleeping Beauty... BEAUTIFUL. I like the part that goes "So maiden, tell us thy secret please..." superb vocals. And Alexandra's voice is beautiful, I would have liked very much to hear a bit more of her in this track.
Also, the dungeon part is so cool, I'll never get tired of it. The more I listen to it, the more I like it.

Addicted to Vengance has the BEST GUITAR of all Game Over tracks. The part at 3:30, excellent, very melodic. And the calm part at the end, very nostalgic.
Street Fighter II was such a great game back in the ol days (well, it still is). Just a thing, what's with that jap dialog at the beginning?  :?

Transylvanian Temptation... PURE AWESOMENESS, everything about this one rocks. What I like the most is of course the growling "I smell you, sonarize you, your whip will lead the way" OMFG!! I don't know what else to say, thx Game Over Cheesy

My vote goes for Transylvanian Temptation of course
Siege at Monsteropolis was close, but not as good as TT.

Check out Wicked Six by Sixto Sounds, it's from Castlevania level 3. It has an amazing guitar solo at 3:20, too bad the guitar is a little weak there.

But Game Over's version with those vocals and that growling is much better of course.  Cool

Wire, I suggest you post a picture (or a few pictures ) of you wearing the GAME OVER t-shirt. I think that would boost sales, and you'd be giving us, your fans, a gr8 gift

No offense, but you're indeed gorgeous.

hehe i think a guy named Kadmium did it, one of his best Smiley

Not bad. I wasn't expecting something this good. I like Death Metal, this guy did a good job with those vocals.
But the problem is it doesn't sound like Zelda at all. And it's too technoish I guess. I like melodic guitars, but I'm not sure if this one's a real guitar, I think it's a sample (I'm not a musician). And about those synth sounds, they just ruin the song.
Overall, didn't make me shiver. It's a good song if you like techno-death. And it shouldn't have Zelda in the title.

Back on topic, someone suggested the Double Dragon II main theme. It's a great classic, I really hope you consider making this one.

As a metal fan, and as an old school videogamer, I am capable of appreciate your work.

To be honest, I've only listened to a few Game Over songs, but if I could only use two words to describe those pieces of art they would be:........     "Pure Genius".

I got shivers the first time I listened to Little Mac's Confession, everything about that song is f***ing amazing. Excellent job.
Vocals in classic nintendo tunes? Hell yeah! I specially liked the vocals very much in this one. Tim, you're a gifted singer, and I can't imagine a Game Over track with a different lead vocalist.

I'm going to order NESperado as soon as I get some money on my paypal account. I'm 'NESsperate' to hear those new tracks.

Keep up the good work.  Cool
10  General Category / General / The Dark World Theme on: May 26, 2006, 01:54:37 AM
Zelda: A Link to the Past - Dark world theme!!!

I sooo voted for this one.

The Dark World Theme, simply one of the greatest Zelda songs ever. I wish I could listen to a heavy-metal-GameOverish version of it someday. Wire, please make my wish come true, I know you can do it.

I also voted for Bionic Commando - Level 1, that tune brings back good memories to my head.
